- Additional Information A fusee movement pocket watch, made of jeweller's bronze by Francois Mercier of France. It has a convex cast lens at the top which lifts to show a clock dial which has Roman Numerals around its perimeter. In the centre is elaborate Renaissance decoration. The watch has one hand which points to the hour and is set with a key. There is an aperture in the clock dial through which a key fits. A trip opens the back to reveal the watchmaker's name and an elaborate pierced decoration. The case is bronze and has ring attached to its side for suspension. This object is associated with the estates of Sir John A. Macdonald and his son, Sir Hugh John Macdonald.
