- Additional Information This quilt was made to honour the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Beth Craig was inspired to the task because she felt that children should be taught that Mounties have exceptional qualities - knowledge and love of nature, bravery and fairness. Part cowboy, part Boy Scout and part soldier, the Mountie is the symbolic embodiment of the highest Canadian values. In tradition and popular imagination, he has become one of the most enduring icons of Canadian life.
