Additional Information
Oval Frame
Most earthenware frames, such as this one, were made from a mould. The dark and reddish brown dappled glaze on this frame was popular during the late Victorian era. The back is marked “J Weber Maker December 15th Ontario 1871.” Jacob B. Weber was the son-in-law and future business partner of Valentine Boehler, who founded the Huron Pottery. See CMH 2007.22.43 and CMH 2007.22.44.
