- Additional Information Pair of natural-coloured, light weight canvas sleeve-protectors; adjusted with twill tape through casing at upper edge. The casing extends at the opening for tape to become a tab approximately 12 cm long and 4.8 cm wide, at the end of which has been hand-stitched a large safety pin; the lower edge has had fullness eased onto a leather binding, now deteriorated. One has an additional safety pin at the top of the underarm seam. Believed to have been worn by Charles J.F. Holcroft (1864-1914), in his job with the business section of The Mail Printing Co. (c. 1890 to c. 1894), at the Canada Life Assurance Co. of Toronto (c. 1898 to 1914), and/or possibly in Hamilton between these two.
