Caddies and Carrying

The golf bag has developed from a drab utilitarian piece of canvas to a modern multi-coloured, multi-pocketed and hooded affair with an endless choice of pockets and accessories. With golfers loaded down with 14 clubs, a dozen balls, an umbrella, stick-cane, and other accessories, the post-war invention of the pull-cart was inevitable. With the introduction of motorized carts, caddies have virtually disappeared, although some Canadian golf courses are maintaining the traditional training and use of caddies.
