Early WAAC records indicate that Margaret McClung lived in St. Catharines, Ontario, before moving to Los Angeles in 1898.

She died in Vancouver on September 11, 1952. Her obituary (Vancouver Province, September 16, 1952) stated that in 1886 she was awarded a bronze medal from the Colonial and Indian Exhibition in London, England.
