The third and final fancy dress ball during the Aberdeens' tenure was organized by the Ladies' Branch of the Antiquarian and Numismatic Society in Montreal. It was inspired by the Historical Ball held in Ottawa two years earlier. Lady Aberdeen was the Honorary President of the organization and so the couple were guests of honour, presiding over the evening as they had done at the two previous balls.
