Lady Van Horne (née Adeline Hurd), wife of railway magnate Sir William Van Horne, wore a garment created especially for the ball, obtained from the famous Lord and Taylor department store in New York. She was part of the Explorers, Discoverers, and Visitors set at the Montreal Historical Ball.
