From Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province. Adept in Chinese painting, calligraphy and art education. He was a Director of the Central Art College, a Director of the Chinese Art Research Institute and a Vice-Chairman of the Federation of Chinese Artists. He has done a lot of sketching during many long trips and compared himself to a "Stoic". He made many creative contributions to Chinese landscape painting. In particular, he introduced the Western technique of "contrast" into Chinese painting. He has held an exhibition in the German Academy of Art and Science. His works were widely collected by the Chinese Art Gallery and museums of Europe, America and Japan.
