In 1948, before the success of aerial postal service, the Ministry of Postal Services introduced the "Everything by Air Mail" service for first class mail weighing less than 30 grams. The aim of the service was faster mail transport, and it applied to all mail sent from and to addresses within Canada.

Between 1929 and 1948, the aerial postal service grew immensely. In 1929, 146,175 kilos of mail were transported by mail; by 1948, that figure had increased to 2,682,000 kilos.
