Okanagan

Horse racing was, and still is, a popular social event. Most Okanagan horse owners had race horses especially for these events. This race took place at Penticton, British Columbia, on July 1, 1918. Jack Lorenzetto of Hedley, British Columbia, is in the lead.
John Stelkia, an accomplished ranch and rodeo cowboy of the Inkaneep Band, rides Happy Days at the annual professional rodeo in Tonasket Washington, 1947.
Charles Allison, a respected cattleman from the Similkameen, about to change mounts, c. 1945. The calves have been branded, and now it is time for the cowboys to "pair them up" with their mothers and take them out to the range.
