Successful rodeo competitors often offer clinics, schools and coaching to others who wish to compete in the sport. Joan Perry, who has won many championships, travelled throughout British Columbia, giving clinics and workshops on barrel racing and horse training.

When he is not driving trucks, Brett Major often works as a trapper and hunting guide in the Lac La Biche area. He has been one of the main instructors of the Basic Trapper Education and Basic Hunter Education courses in the area for almost 10 years.
