Description
Daphne Odjig (1919-2016) is a Potawatomi Artist from Wikwemikong Reserve on Manitoulin Island with an Odawa and English heritage. This artwork tells the story of the European invasion in America who led to the destruction of Native cultures. It also gives the hope of freedom under the protection of the Thunderbird and Mother Earth.
