This bowl represents Frog and is a reproduction of a Haida bowl originally carved in wood. These reproduction pieces in high density resin are moulded from casts of original historical Haida carvings in argillite and wood from the Canadian Museum of History’s collection. Argillite is a soft slate-like material found only on Haida Gwaii. Haida artists have carved this important material for trade and for sale since at least the early nineteenth century. 13.75 x 10 cm.
