Moments in time: 27 years of memories at the Canadian Museum of History

June 29, 2016
On June 29, 1989, the Canadian Museum of Civilization (today’s Canadian Museum of History) officially opened its doors to visitors in Gatineau, Quebec. To mark the Museum’s 27th anniversary, we look back in time at some of the special events and memorable moments that have taken place on the grounds of our cultural institution over nearly three decades. From state visits to Canada Day activities, a lot has happened on the Museum’s site since its inauguration, and these are just a few examples. We’d like to thank Canadians and international visitors from all walks of life for helping us create these memories and for sharing our passion for history throughout the years.
