Tickets Now Available for Rainbow over Indonesia at the Canadian Museum of Civilization

Gatineau, Quebec, August 25, 2006 — On September 5, 2006 at the Canadian Museum of Civilization, discover Indonesia’s many cultures through music, dance and song in the cultural event, Pelangi Nusantara — Rainbow over Indonesia.

Pelangi means “rainbow” and Nusantara refers to the Indonesian archipelago — a region stretching from Sabang (the most western tip) to the city of Merauke (Indonesia’s easternmost point). Indonesia and is home to 230 million people and over 250 ethnic groups, with over 700 languages spoken throughout the islands. This special performance features professional artists from Indonesia — all of whom travel extensively to promote Indonesia culture abroad — and reflects both Indonesia’s cultural diversity, and the multifaceted nature of Indonesian society. Presented in partnership with the Embassy of Indonesia.
