Tastes and Sounds of Peru Come to the Canadian Museum of Civilization on January 24

Gatineau, Quebec, January 15, 2008 – On January 24, come escape the winter blues with a virtual visit to Peru, featuring music, dance, food, drink, art and history.

In conjunction with the special exhibition Secret Riches: Ancient Peru Unearthed, the Canadian Museum of Civilization and the Peru Association of Ottawa and Gatineau are pleased to present Tastes and Sounds of Peru, a celebration of the splendours of Peruvian culture. Hosted by Bernardo Li, president of the Association, the event features the music of Peru Mestizo, dance performances by Peru Danza, traditional Peruvian dishes, Pisco Sour tastings and the work of a variety of Peruvian artists and artisans. The ticket price also includes admission to Secret Riches: Ancient Peru Unearthed, accompanied by the CMC’s in-house curator for the exhibition, Dr. Jean-Luc Pilon.
