Special Reading of Roch Carrier’s The Hockey Sweater

Gatineau, Quebec, February 27, 2007 — On March 6 and 13, join us at the Canadian Museum of Civilization for a special reading of Roch Carrier’s beloved story, The Hockey Sweater. This classic of Canadian literature delights children of all ages, whether or not they have played hockey. Discover what happens when Roch outgrows his cherished “Canadiens” sweater and his mother writes away for a new one, only to be sent the blue-and-white sweater of the rival team, the Toronto Maple Leafs.

This activity is presented in conjunction with the exhibition Lace-Up: Canada’s Passion for Skating. The goal of this exhibition is to examine skating as a whole, examining its evolution, its transformation, and its establishment in Canada. Lace-Up is presented until April 1, 2007.
