Postal elves are waiting for you at the Canadian Museum of Civilization!

Gatineau, Quebec, Novembre 23, 2010 — Santa Claus’ North Pole post office is once again open for business and Santa’s postal elves are anxious to help him reply to the one million letters or so he’ll once again receive. Moreover, they are expecting the children to the Canadian Museum of Civilization on Saturday to help them wrote their letter.

Santa’s Postal Elves will be on hand with special paper to help kids write their very own letter to Santa. Each one of them will receive a treat when they drop their letter in Santa’s magical mailbox, and they’ll also be sure to get a reply from the North Pole!

Santa’s North Pole post office has answered more than 18.5 million letters since Canada Post’s national annual letter-writing program was established in 1982. More than 11,000 current or retired Canada Post employees volunteer their time to help Santa respond to truckloads of letters in the language in which they are received—30 languages last year, including Braille. In 2009, Canada Post elves replied to more than 1.1 million letters and 39,500 emails!
