Peter and the Wolf

Gatineau, Quebec, July 16, 2007 — On July 25, join Ottawa’s Ayorama’s Wind Quartet at the Canadian Museum of Civilization for a performance of Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf, a piece loved by children and adults around the world. Peter and the Wolf will be narrated by Marjolaine Laroche and is presented in partnership with the Ottawa International Chamber Music Festival, as part of Chamberfest 2007.

Ayorama Wind Quintet was formed in 1969 by five members of the National Arts Centre Orchestra. The musicians selected the Inuit word Ayorama (So be it) as the name of their quintet. This ensemble is distinguished by the nature of its programs, which feature the works of many contemporary composers. It has been coached by Samuel Baron of the New York Wind Quintet and by the Australian-French horn player Barry Tuckwell.
