Gatineau, Quebec, March 27, 2015 — On April 3, the Museum of History’s IMAX® Theatre invites you to discover the amazing story of lemurs — the great explorers of the animal world. Island of Lemurs: Madagascar 3D takes you on a unique journey to the natural habitat of these loveable little primates, at the heart of the island of Madagascar.

Lemurs arrived in the remote and wondrous world of Madagascar millions of years ago as castaways, and have since evolved into hundreds of diverse species. Sadly, they are now highly endangered.

Meet Dr. Patricia Wright, a trailblazing scientist who has been working for 30 years to help these strange and adorable creatures survive in the modern world. Discover little-known species of lemur, including the amazing indri, the dancing sifaka, the mouse lemur and the greater bamboo lemur.

Island of Lemurs: Madagascar 3D lets you marvel at this animal’s amazing capacity to adapt. “Lemurs have survived dinosaurs. They’ve survived being castaways. But can they survive humanity? That’s the big question,” says the producer, Drew Fellman. “We hope this film will show people all over the world how special lemurs are — and how worthy they are of our admiration and protection.”

Written and produced by Drew Fellman, director of Born to Be Wild 3D, this film immerses you in a remote natural paradise, where you will encounter a truly remarkable animal. Island of Lemurs: Madagascar 3D is narrated by Academy Award® winner Morgan Freeman. The film has been rated G and has a run time of 40 minutes.
