Now open Mondays year-round: Civilization and War Museums welcome visitors seven days a week

Gatineau, Quebec, October 15, 2010 — The Canadian Museum of Civilization and the Canadian War Museum will now be open seven days a week throughout the year. In the past, the Museums were closed during the winter season. Both Museums will now be open every Monday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., beginning October 18, 2010.

“The Civilization and War Museums are Canada’s most popular cultural institutions, attracting close to two million visitors every year from across the country and around the globe,” said Dr. Victor Rabinovitch, President and CEO of the Canadian Museum of Civilization Corporation. “The new operating hours will create new opportunities for us to share Canada’s history with the public, and provide more flexibility to visitors, both locally and from outside the National Capital Region.”

The Museums hope that tourists, as well as local families with flexible hours, will take advantage of this expanded service.
