New Appointments to Board of Trustees of the Canadian Museum of Civilization Corporation

Gatineau, Quebec, December 21, 2007 – The Canadian Museum of Civilization Corporation is pleased to announce two new appointments to the Corporation’s Board of Trustees.

Stéfanie Pelletier, of Montréal, is Chief Financial Officer of the Canadian branch of Société Générale Corporate and Investment Banking, part of the Société Générale Group. Previously, she worked for Ernst & Young from 1995 to 2002. Ms. Pelletier is a fluently bilingual chartered accountant whose professional background includes work in certification accounting, financial planning and leadership roles. She has been a member of both the Comité des comptables agréés de Québec and the Ordre des comptables agréés du Québec.

Judith Baxter, of Clifton Royal, New Brunswick, is a retired businesswoman who was a founding director of the Kingston Farmers’ Market. She is also a founding director of the John Fisher Memorial Museum, and served as volunteer museum co-ordinator from 1972 to 2007. Ms. Baxter has worked as an artist, writer and commercial illustrator, and sits on the Board of the New Brunswick Museum.

Appointed by the Governor-in-Council, the eleven members of the CMCC’s Board of Trustees are part-time appointees, representing different regions of Canada. These appointments to the Board were originally announced by the Honourable Josée Verner, Minister of Canadian Heritage, Status of Women and Official Languages.
