National Youth Orchestra of Canada free concert at the Canadian Museum of Civilization

Gatineau, Quebec, July 20 , 2007 — The Canadian Museum of Civilization invites the public to enjoy a concert by eight young musicians from the National Youth Orchestra of Canada on Thursday August 2 at 1:30 p.m. in the Main Lobby.

The versatile musicians of the National Youth Orchestra of Canada will split into small ensembles to present a varied programme of chamber music. The ensembles will include a string quartet, a percussion ensemble, a flute and oboe duo, a brass quintet, and others, performing music ranging from the classical period to modern day.

The National Youth Orchestra of Canada is a non-profit organization devoted to the discovery and training of young Canadian symphony orchestra musicians. Since 1960, more than 2,400 of Canada’s finest young musicians have received orchestral training not available through any other institution.
