Lecture on Ancient Egypt presented at the Canadian Museum of Civilization

Gatineau, Quebec, May 12, 2006 — On May 23, the Canadian Museum of Civilization invites you to a lecture on Ancient Egypt, presented in collaboration with the embassies of Egypt, Italy and France. Patrizia Piacentini, Professor of Egyptology at the University of Milan, will discuss The Valley of the Kings Rediscovered: The Excavation Journals of Victor Loret. An expert on Egyptian history and philology, Dr. Piacentini will fascinate us with her insights into Ancient Egypt.

Professor Patrizia Piacentini regularly gives lectures and seminars at universities around the world. She is a member of scientific and editorial committees of several scholarly journals, such as Aegyptus, the Rivista di Studi Punici and the Revue des Études Militaires Anciennes, a member of the Scientific Committee of the Istituto Italiano per la Civiltà Egizia, and Chair of the Associazione Per-Megiat for the protection and promotion of Egyptology libraries.
