Give blood: It’s the gift of life – Third annual blood drive at the Canadian Museum of Civilization

Gatineau, Quebec, April 2, 2007 — For the third consecutive year, the Canadian Museum of Civilization is collaborating with Héma-Québec to hold a blood drive in the Grand Hall of the Museum on Thursday, April 12. This community initiative will allow residents of the region to donate blood and to enjoy free parking and free admission to the Museum. The Museum of Civilization takes Héma-Québec’s mission and the well-being of the community to heart.

In Quebec, someone needs blood every 80 seconds. A simple gift of blood can help save up to four lives. It is through the generosity of those who care enough to share the gift of life that hospitals in the Outaouais region and across the province of Quebec will be assured they have sufficient blood reserves to meet the demand. Héma-Québec is the only organization in Quebec responsible for the management of the province’s blood bank. Giving blood is a matter of life. Please join us on April 12.
