Discover the craft of bookbinding

Gatineau, Quebec, April 11, 2007 — On April 21, join us at the Canadian Museum of Civilization for a coffee and a conversation with artist and bookbinder Jacques Fournier. Mr. Fournier is a member of the Conseil des métiers d’art du Québec and two time winner of the Grand Prix des métiers d’art du Québec. He creates beautiful bindings for contemporary art books. Don’t miss the opportunity to learn about this age-old craft!

This activity is presented in conjunction with the exhibition Unique! 30 Years of Outstanding Crafts where Canada’s most stunning and original handcrafted pieces take centre stage. From elegant furniture to delicate glassware, see 120 examples of Canada’s finest crafts made by the country’s most accomplished and creative craftspeople.
