Curator gives guided tour of Canadian Postal Museum’s newest exhibition

Gatineau, Quebec, November 1, 2006 — On Friday, November 10, 2006 join curator Sandra Morton Weizman for an exclusive look at the Canadian Postal Museum’s newest exhibition on postal imagery in popular culture, The Post Goes Pop. The Canadian Postal Museum is located in the Canadian Museum of Civilization. After the tour, you will have the chance to ask Ms. Weizman questions about this exhibition while sipping on a cup of coffee or tea.

Sandra Morton Weizman is a museum curator, social historian, and a museums and heritage consultant based in Calgary. She has worked for the Ontario Historical Society, the Provincial Museum of Alberta (now the Royal Alberta Museum) in Edmonton, the Canada Science and Technology Museum in Ottawa, and the Glenbow Museum in Calgary. The Post Goes Pop is the third exhibition she has guest-curated for the Canadian Museum of Civilization; the first being A Coat of Many Colours: Two Centuries of Jewish Life in Canada (1990), which toured Canada, New York and Israel, and Acres of Dreams: Settling the Canadian Prairies (2005). The Post Goes Pop runs from November 10, 2006 until January 6, 2008.
