Come celebrate the JUNOS at the Canadian Museum of Civilization

 Gatineau, Quebec, March 16, 2012—In celebration of the 2012 JUNO Awards—  Canada’s premier music awards—the Canadian Museum of Civilization is proud to present CELEBRATING THE JUNOS: Photographs and Album Artwork, two special displays in the W. E. Taylor Salon from March 16 to April 9.

The first display showcases every JUNO Award winner for Recording Package of the Year (album cover art) since that category was introduced in 1975. The second presents both performance and candid photographs of JUNO Award nominated and winning artists,many of whom are now household names in Canadaand around the world. These remarkable photographs are a visual record of the evolution of both the JUNO Awards and of Canadian music. More than 40 photos will be on display, some from the JUNO Awards’ 40th Anniversary book, Music from Far and Wide: Celebrating 40 Years of the JUNO Awards, as well as never-before-seen photos taken by Canada’s foremost rock and roll photographers, including Barry Roden, Bruce Cole, Grant Martin, Tom Sandler and photographers from iPhoto Inc.

The 2012 JUNO Awards Broadcast will be held on April 1 atScotiabank PlaceinOttawa.
