Gatineau, Quebec, October 20, 2011—This year the Canadian Museum of Civilization invites you to celebrate Halloween as a family and extend the party over a week. The Canadian Children’s Museum has seven days of fun family festivities planned, including a party with costumed characters from Sesame Street!

Join the hunt on Tuesday, October 25 when the Children’s Museum will need your help to find 10 bats that have decided to make their nests in various places throughout the Museum. Find all the hidden bats to win a special Halloween treat!

On Friday, October 28, preschool visitors can let their imaginations run free by making a Halloween mask in the Studio or decorating a trick-or-treat bag in the Factory. Then they can stretch their legs by participating in various special games in the Theatre. Older children will also have the chance to decorate their trick-or-treat bags in time for Halloween night, by stopping by the Studio between October 29 and 31.

The highlight of the festivities will take place in the majestic Grand Hall on Sunday, October 30 when kids of all ages are invited to a dress-up party in the company of some costumed characters from Sesame Street! Dress up in your favourite costume, eat a yummy snack and get creative by making some cool crafts. Join our DJ for a dance party and have your camera ready for appearances by Elmo, Cookie Monster and Abby Cadabby!
