Celebrate Heritage Day at the Canadian Museum of Civilization and the Canadian War Museum – Admission is half-price February 18 and 19

The Museums are open both days from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. It’s the ideal way to celebrate this special day honouring our national architectural heritage and the historic sites of Canada. The CMC is presenting several outstanding special exhibitions, including the newly opened Lace Up: Canada’s Passion for Skating, Beads of Life: Eastern and Southern African Adornments and A Caring Profession: Centuries of Nursing in Canada. The CWM features the Canadian premiere of Weapons of Mass Dissemination: The Propaganda of War.

The Canadian Museum of Civilization is the largest and most visited museum in Canada. It brings 1,000 years of history to life in the popular Canada Hall and showcases the history and cultures of Canada’s Aboriginal peoples in the spectacular Grand Hall and the First Peoples Hall. The beautiful architectural complex also houses the acclaimed Canadian Children’s Museum, the Canadian Postal Museum and an IMAX Theatre.
