Canadian Museum of History and Canadian Children’s Museum win TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence

Gatineau, Quebec, May 25, 2015 — The Canadian Museum of History is pleased to have been awarded TripAdvisor’s 2015 Certificate of Excellence. This annual recognition is also being awarded to the Canadian Children’s Museum, located inside the Canadian Museum of History. The Children’s Museum presents a central theme — The Great Adventure — and gives younger visitors an opportunity to travel the world.

Now in its fifth year, the Certificate of Excellence celebrates hospitality excellence worldwide and is awarded to accommodations, restaurants and attractions listed on TripAdvisor. Winners are selected based on the number of positive reviews received from TripAdvisor travellers.

“The Canadian Museum of History and Canadian Children’s Museum are proud and delighted to be recognized as top-performing attractions. We would like thank all of our visitors who took the time to complete a review on TripAdvisor,” said Mark O’Neill, President and CEO of the Museum. “This accolade is a remarkable vote of confidence to our institutions and our continued commitment to excellence.”

The Museum of History and Children’s Museum are honoured to receive this award for a fourth consecutive year. The Museum of History also won the Travellers’ Choice Award in 2013 and 2014, another travel distinction given out by TripAdvisor.

The winners were announced by press release on May 19 by TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel site.

Located on the shores of the Ottawa River in Gatineau, Quebec, the Canadian Museum of History is Canada’s largest and most popular cultural institution, attracting over 1.2 million visitors each year. The Museum’s principal role is to enhance Canadians’ knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the events, experiences, people and objects that have shaped Canada’s history and identity, as well as to enhance Canadians’ awareness of world history and culture.
