Canadian Museum of Civilization Corporation welcomes new Vice-President

Gatineau, Quebec, May 6, 2008 — The Canadian Museum of Civilization Corporation is pleased to announce the appointment of Jennifer Price as Vice-President, Public Affairs and Publishing. Ms. Price brings to this executive position a wealth of communications and management experience in the public and private sectors.

Most recently, Ms. Price held a senior position in the Communications Branch of the federal Department of Canadian Heritage. For five years before that, she was Consul and Trade Commissioner, Culture, at the Canadian Consulate General in Los Angeles.

“I am very pleased to welcome Ms. Price to our management team,” said Dr. Victor Rabinovitch, President of the Canadian Museum of Civilization Corporation. “She will be leading a dynamic group of communications specialists whose work is vital to the Corporation’s continuing success. She brings to the job an outstanding combination of skills, experience and initiative.”

Ms. Price also brings a pan-Canadian perspective. She attended university in Montréal, worked at a radio station in Halifax, founded and ran a communications consulting business on Vancouver Island, and now works for the federal government in the National Capital Region. Her experience includes providing strategic advice to senior government officials, identifying and opening doors of opportunity for the Canadian arts and cultural sector in the U.S., overseeing the writing and production of a wide array of communication and marketing products, and managing staff and budgets.

Ms. Price has Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in English/Creative Writing from Concordia University in Montréal.

The Canadian Museum of Civilization Corporation is a federal Crown Corporation whose principal mandate is to preserve and promote the human, social and military history of Canada for the benefit of present and future generations.
