Fabulous adventures in store at the Canadian Children’s Museum summer day camps

Gatineau (Quebec), June 2, 2006 — Summer can be a season filled with discovery and enriching experiences for children. This year, the Canadian Children’s Museum at the Canadian Museum of Civilization proposes two themes for its summer day camps. Don’t delay: there are only a few spots left!

World Mystery Detectives
Weeks of July 24, July 31 and August 14
Ages 6 to 9

Campers will become detectives — learning how to take fingerprints, donning disguises to travel incognito, and decoding secret messages. This adventure will take them to exotic locales around the world as they seek to solve a sinister mystery!

Destination: Animation!
Weeks of July 3, July 10 and July 17
Ages 8 to 11

Explore the world of animation and comic books. Participants will meet real comic book artists during the workshops. Each camper will create characters and explore different ways of bringing them to life through animation. Campers will watch animated films and be introduced to the styles and techniques of different periods and cultures, including manga, claymation and computer animation. During the week, each camper will produce his or her very own comic strip.
