Artisans demonstrate traditional craft techniques

Artisans demonstrate traditional craft techniques in a distinctive setting

Gatineau, Quebec, March 2, 2007 — On March 10 and 11, meet Canadian artisans during a stroll through the Canada Hall, in the Canadian Museum of Civilization. Artisans will demonstrate their specialized traditional techniques in the area of the Canada Hall that is historically related to their craft. Rug braiding, wool spinning and lace making are all traditional crafts that enabled our ancestors to survive and flourish. Discover techniques that have endured over the centuries and meet craftspeople who still practice them in the traditional manner to create inspired and authentic pieces.

Don’t miss the opportunity to visit the special exhibition Unique! 30 Years of Outstanding Crafts. This exhibition displays Canada’s most stunning and original handcrafted pieces from elegant furniture to delicate glassware, presented until August 5, 2007.
