Is it important for you to wear a visible religious symbol?

I wear the ICHTHUS, a fish symbol used in ancient Rome for Christians to identify each other during the persecution of Christ followers. I like to wear it because it’s a subtle way of expressing my faith and love for Christ and has been a conversation starter. It has also been used for it’s original purpose in meeting other Christians. I wouldn’t say it’s important though. I shouldn’t need a symbol for people to notice I love Christ.

Definitely not, religion is “inside” not outside.

I am openly atheistic, but religious beliefs are often strongly held, and can be very polarizing. I think it is usually detrimental to proclaim one’s religious beliefs in a public forum, even if you are in a minority and seeks more visibility for your point of view.

Yes. It shows how strong you believe.

When I first found my spiritual path, it was important, I wore two silver pendants on a chain around my neck and never took them off. Even for emergency surgery at a Catholic hospital in the USA staff saw the significance and taped the pendants to the bottom of my foot, so they would stay with me. I felt blessed for their respect as my pendants were Wiccan symbols.
