Discover some of the fascinating stories behind key artifacts in the new exhibition, Death in the Ice – The Mystery of the Franklin Expedition. Take a guided tour with exhibition curator Dr. Karen Ryan as you explore the perilous world of 19th-century Arctic exploration, from the voyage’s confident beginnings to its tragic end. Learn more about the important role played by Inuit oral history in revealing the Expedition’s fate, and in helping to locate the wrecks of its two ships. Enjoy a hot drink and light refreshments following the tour, along with an opportunity to chat with renowned archaeologist Dr. Karen Ryan.
