With Richard Desjardins, Alexandre DaCosta and Alexandre Éthier

The Canadian Museum of History, in association with the Ville de Gatineau, is proud to present Soleil d’Espagne: The Lives and Poetry of Lorca with Richard Desjardins, Alexandre DaCosta and Alexandre Éthier.

Richard Desjardins joins violinist Alexandre DaCosta and guitarist Alexandre Éthier in this tribute to the work of poet Federico García Lorca. The show pays homage to Lorca’s work, as well as to the Spanish music of Isaac Albéniz, Manuel de Falla, Gaspar Sanz and Pablo de Sarasate. As both writer and musician, Lorca bestowed on us a collection of thirty songs. Immerse yourself in a world of toreadors, romance and pride, and find yourself deeply moved by the verse and prose of this great poet, who was tragically murdered by Franco supporters in 1936.
