Seven tipis

Plan Your Visit

Seven tipis will be illuminated on the grounds of the Canadian Museum of History, in the lead-up to the New Year’s Eve performance Nimidiwin: Celebrating Our Dance From Coast to Coast to Coast.

The number of tipis serves to remind us of the Seventh Generation philosophy that decisions made today should benefit forthcoming generations. The tipis also represent the seven sacred Indigenous teachings of love, respect, courage, honesty, wisdom, humility and truth, and the Seven Fires Prophesy.

Presented by Ulnooweg Development and the Canadian Museum of History.
