Canadian Ski Patrol Day: Attempt at Guinness Snow Angel Record

Plan Your Visit

Canadian Ski Patrol Day is an annual event to celebrate the role the Canadian Ski Patrol plays at ski areas across the country — not to mention our work off the snow, throughout the year.

This year, we want to break the Guinness World Record (15,581) for “most people making snow angels” at multiple venues. Come to the Canadian Museum of History and help us set a new record!

About

The Canadian Ski Patrol serves where Canadians play outdoors. Founded in 1941 and comprising approximately 4,500 members, the Ski Patrol provides advanced first aid and rescue services at ski areas in every province and in the Yukon. We estimate that our volunteers contribute a million hours a year to helping fellow Canadians. While our name reinforces our roots on the snow, patrollers don’t stop helping people when they take their skis and boards off. Our volunteers are active off the snow, around the country and throughout the year at festivals and other community and sporting events. At the office, at the scene of a traffic accident or at a neighbors’ house — patrollers are never really off duty. Highly trained and mobile, this diverse group of skilled outdoor enthusiasts know what to do. They specialize in getting sick or injured people safely into the hands of medical professionals quickly — no matter where they are.

Canadian Ski Patrol Day is an annual event to celebrate the role the Canadian Ski Patrol plays at ski areas across the country — not to mention our work at events off the snow, throughout the year. Canadian Ski Patrol Day is also an opportunity to celebrate our role and to reinforce safety on the snow.
