Aboriginal Music Celebration

Buy Tickets

In celebration of National Aboriginal Month, First Peoples artists perform dance numbers and traditional and modern pieces of music on the stage of the Grand Hall.

Dynamic music and dance are central to the culture and identity of Canada’s First Peoples. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear traditional and modern music, and watch dancers in full regalia performing in the Grand Hall. Aboriginal dancers and drummers, along with young Anishinaabe violist Melody McKiver will share the stage in the Grand Hall. They will interact with the audience and explain the significance of the music and dances they perform, offering visitors a glimpse into the rich and vibrant artistic traditions of Canada’s First Peoples.

These performances are part of Canadian Museum of History programming for National Aboriginal Month, which celebrates the unique heritage, diverse cultures, and outstanding achievements of First Peoples in Canada. This lively, one-of-a-kind cultural experience will appeal to anyone interested in Aboriginal cultures, and would make a wonderful end-of-year trip for elementary students and high school groups.
