The Canadian Postal Museum is proud to present over 400 exceptional philatelic pieces from the personal collection of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. This unique collection also contains Canadian philatelic treasures.

The introduction of postage stamps in 1840 revolutionized the way people communicated and upset long-established customs. It was now the sender who paid to mail a letter, and the rate charged made postal services widely accessible.

Today, the earliest postage stamps are prized by collectors, but they are, above all, witnesses of a period of great change that most of us know little about. The Royal Philatelic Collection illustrates this important period. It is the most complete collection of British and Commonwealth stamps - and one of the most prestigious in the world.
