DO YOU HAVE A BOX THAT SHOULD BE
IN THE NATIONAL COLLECTION?

The Canadian Museum of Civilization is interested in acquiring significant Canadian cigar boxes. If you have a box you would like to donate, please contact us with the following information (please do NOT send the box before you've been in touch with us):

  1. Your name, address, telephone number, and email address;
  2. The brand or title on the box;
  3. The name of the manufacturer and his address, if present;
  4. Factory and IRD or Port number/letter on the bottom of the box
  5. Date on the revenue stamp, if visible
  6. The condition of the box;
  7. A photograph of the box and the inside label, if possible.

CUSTOMIZED CIGAR BOXES

The Canadian Museum of Civilization is particularly interested in acquiring Canadian cigar boxes that have been made into various objects (musical instruments, doll houses, etc.) or adapted for storage of fishing lures, Christmas ornaments, coins, stamps, etc. The Museum wishes to acquire these boxes with their contents.
