An exhibition examining the past, present and future of television —

At the Canadian Museum of Civilization from November 8, 1996 to April 6, 1997

Central to the exhibition were sixty historical television sets, related memorabilia, and panels examining the history and socio-cultural influence of television. Watching TV was divided into six sections, beginning with the birth of mechanical television in the 1920s and culminating in a look at television now, and in the future. Each section traced various television developments, demonstrating television's evolution from an experimental technology to a communications system with global reach and influence.
