Forum program, November 8, 1942 - the night Maurice Richard scores
his first NHL goal. The next day, the sportswriter for Le Devoir writes:
"Maurice Richard continues to shine, and last night, he pulled off a
play worth talking about. In the second period, he grabbed the puck
from behind the Canadiens net and, at a velocity reminiscent of the
famous Howie Morenz, skated through the entire opposing team to score
the most beautiful goal of the night. This feat earned him an ovation
lasting several minutes."
Richard wears number 15 on his sweater during his first year in
the NHL.
