The Théâtre de l'Île
2 Wellington Street

The Théâtre de l'Île (Hull Island Theatre) is housed in Hull's first aqueduct building, constructed in 1886. Inadequate for fighting the city's fires, this aqueduct was closed at the beginning of the twentieth century. It became a theatre in 1974, with the distinction of being the only municipal theatre in Quebec. It is both a theatre school and a performance venue in a verdant setting that makes it one of the loveliest sites in the city of Gatineau.
