The Bank Hotel

The land on which the hotel was built was also a part of the inheritance of Philemon Wright, the son of Tiberius. It was not until 1907 that Joseph-Napoleon Fortin and Joseph-Ephrem Gravelle hired Hull architect Charles Brodeur to build the hotel that they named "Bank", because of its relationship to the construction of the nearby Bank of Montreal. It is amusing to note that bricks from the house on the site of the bank building were used to bank up the land of the Bank Hotel.
