1864 - Danish-Prussian war begins; Denmark cedes control of South Jutland to Prussia.

1893 - Ole Bennedsen marries Stinne (Christine) Lorentzen.

1899 - Frederik Bennedsen, Chris's father, is born.

1906 - Anna Johannesson, Chris's mother, is born to Else and Adam Johannesson.

1914-18 - World War One; many young men from South Jutland were drafted into the German army. Frederik Bennedsen escaped the draft by crossing the border into Denmark.

1920 - Else Johannesson marries Jens Lund.

1920 - South Jutland reverts back to Denmark.

1926 - Frederik Bennedsen and Anna Johannesson marry.

1929 - January Ole Bennedsen is born.
