The Ballroom Costumes

Mr. Leslie proudly portrayed a military ancestor in the French Vice-Rois and Governors set at the Montreal Historical Ball. His grenadier's cap was reputed to have belonged to that ancestor, and dates from the 1750s. It is now displayed in the Canadian War Museum. The other accessories belonged to a later ancestor, and date from the early nineteenth century. The uniform is a reproduction, and was perhaps made for the occasion.
