Each page of the 1920 edition of Canada West has a slogan, such as Americans Welcome and Why, and Country for Big Men -- Boundless Limitations.

Canada West, 1920 was full of information for prospective settlers who could afford to buy land in Canada. The supply of free goverment land was almost exhausted.

Pictures of the substantial homes of successful farmers illustrate the back cover of Canada West, published by the new Department of Immigration and Colonization.

This happy group of American land buyers had just purchased Canadian National Railways land in western Canada in September 1925.

Much of the best land still available in western Canada belonged to the two national railways, the Canadian Pacific and the new, government-owned Canadian National Railways (the government had been forced to take over a number of struggling railway companies, and to combine different lines into a second national railway system).
